Slaithwaite is situated in the picturesque Colne Valley, that it shares with rolling hills and the villages of Golcar Linthwaite and Marsden. Being in Slaithwaite you are well placed to step out and enjoy the country side.
From Marsden you can access the Marsden Moor Estate on which the National Trust organise regular walks and hikes, some of which will challenge even the most experienced walker. Detailed maps showing other walks in the area can be obtained from the Colne Valley Trust in Slaithwaite.
Slaithwaite is the setting for the Anglian TV series Where the Heart is’ (Skelthwaite) as well as having scenes from the Last of the Summer Wine’ filmed here.
